Eerie. Although I must also comment on the Omega Point Theory, mind-blowing indeed.

Re: A Matrix-like Twilight Zone story
There's a FH story called Looking for Something (in Book of FH) that's another Matrix-a-like.

This physicist Frank Tipler, talks about it in his book The physics of Christianity.SadisticCynic wrote:Eerie. Although I must also comment on the Omega Point Theory, mind-blowing indeed.

Re: A Matrix-like Twilight Zone story
I've always been unsure about buying physics (or any science) books simply because I don't want to waste my money in case I can't understand any of it.

Buy "Cosmos" by the late Carl Sagan, rather than a book on astronomy it's a celebration of the achievements by the human race, and he explains clearly things like: the structure of the universe, the Big Bang, the lives of the stars, ther Theory of Relativity & the evolution of life. highly recommended.SadisticCynic wrote:I've always been unsure about buying physics (or any science) books simply because I don't want to waste my money in case I can't understand any of it.

When it comes to science books I like to look them up on google books first. A bunch are partially shown so you can see what you are getting into.SadisticCynic wrote:I've always been unsure about buying physics (or any science) books simply because I don't want to waste my money in case I can't understand any of it.

Start with physics textbooks (highschool even, or college or uni or whatever... but intoductory for sure), they're generally written in great detail and simplicity, and wil gibe you a great starting point to understanding other writing.Omphalos wrote:When it comes to science books I like to look them up on google books first. An elephant and a mouse jump out of a tree at the same time from the same height, which one lands first?

Re: A Matrix-like Twilight Zone story
Why is the elephant in the tree to begin with?
What is the mouse thinking as he jumps?
What is the mouse thinking as he jumps?
What fear is there in the night?
