Board Upgrade

I wanted to post something that you all may not be aware of. In several of the themes that we have here and at T(A)U there is this icon that looks like a capital letter "A" with an up arrow and a down arrow on either side. In 610nm it appears at the top left, just above the "Jacurutu" banner.

If you fiddle with those arrows you can increase and lower the font size.

Its not in every theme, and it is sometimes in different places. Ive seen it on the top right too.

Just another helpful consumer message from the people who brouoght you Jacurutu.

I'm not seeing a banner on the board index page of the 610 theme.

no title, either.

You might need to clear your cache - I right-clicked View Image then refreshed (Firefox) and that worked.

610nm, as suggested by the Duke.

it's too damn brite, but the twilight theme's font
is light grey on black, and even harder to read.

red font on black seems to be easiest to read for me ...

as far as the 610 goes, it looks good, and the banner is
outstanding. I could get used to it if I had to.

if 610 is going to be the default, and I'm not opposed to that,
I'll have to find a new avatar. the old fremen looked real good
on the black themes, not so much on a lighter background.

but maybe the color scheme is more "Dunish".

You shouldn't make anything but subsilver or prosilver the default theme. The CAPTCHA hooks don't exist in any other theme. If you make the default any but one of those two, it will be impossible for anyone to create new accounts.

I know I know, but my 486 runs it so fast for just web and word its a great machine, i have trouble with these php boards on it though so Im wondering

Omph, I don't know if you've noticed yet that links open in the same window/tab with phpbb3, in phpbb2 they automatically opened in a new window or tab. If you want to change it so that they open in a new window the instructions are here http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/links-o ... w-windows/ I don't know if you'd have to do it for every skin though, seems a little confusing.

you know, I hadn't thought about that.
I've got several 486s that will still boot 3.1 & DOS6.
And some old pentium 2s that boot 95 & 98.

I had assumed the graphics heavy stuff and java scripts would
make web surfing impossible on the old machines, altho I was
using one with 98 just two years ago ....

I had been running 610 ever since the upgrade, mainly because pro-silver looks like garbage... Is there any way to make 610 the default?

610 + logo at the top = WIN!

I don't think we need anything else. It looks badass right now!!!!

I think someone mentioned the clever captcha job is only available on the default themes.

Cool - just seen the default theme now has the logo
(was a little worried about that one - being untested and a bit clever... never a good sign )

That's right. The Captchca hooks only exist in Subsilver and Prosilver, so one of those themes has to be the default.

I don't think that its such a big deal that we have Prosilver for a default. People come here for Dune, not because we have a cool theme. Maybe one day we will get around to putting a banner up on those themes though.
