Greetings
Hello, my name is Rick McGimpsey; my username here is Allan Walton. I am a long time Dune fan. My favourite book in the series is God Emperor of Dune. After having read Chapterhouse: Dune I was very disappointed in the sequels/prequels/interquels/finale provided by the late Frank Herbert's son Brian Herbert and co-author Kevin J. Anderson. The Prelude to Dune trilogy was absolute tripe that blatantly contradicted the elder Herbert's writing. The Legends of Dune trilogy was not quit as bad, but still excruciating reading. I think those books would have been better if stripped of the Dune connections and made into a sci-fi series of its own. The interquel books, Paul of Dune and The Winds of Dune were the worst of the bunch and were a complete slap in the face to the series dignity. The sequels that ended the main story, Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune were a major disappointment and anyone with a working mind can tell Frank Herbert was not going that way. I never had the stomach to read the new trilogy they are doing so I reserve my opinions there.
Well enough ranting. I love the original Dune series and even love the ridiculous David Lynch movie and the fantastic mini-series the Sci-Fi channel produced. I look forward to interacting on this forum further.

Good Day Allan, and welcome!

Leto II is gone for good, except for OM. The "pearl" was just that; a miniscule portion of what Leto was, and not a compressed version of the whole. The pearl that the worms have do not make them Leto, or in any way similar to him.

Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

Big points for that there.Allan Walton wrote:My favourite book in the series is God Emperor of Dune.
Actual correct answer is Messiah, for which I would have claimed your water for myself.
As it is, tho:
Welcome. Your Water is Ours.
get you some good weed and spend about a month reading thru ALL the old threads here.
You'll find we've effectively dealt with all the McDune issues you've experienced in great
detail and carefully crafted a psychological strategy that will allow you to release your KJA
rage (hint: it's called "mocking") and not stay awake at night thinking up assassination
plots and torture.
