Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

I assume anything that uses less then a gallon of gas (petrol) a mile will be ridiculed?

I wasn't ridiculing, I think they're cool.
I'd be afraid to drive one on the interstates around Atlanta with all the SUVs and 18 wheelers, though.

Re: Light Cycles - Own One!
Because I called them light cycles?
I'm not the only one who thought they looked like they're out of the movie Tron:

As a biker for most of my life, I've got to say....no.
As someone whose pocket is in pain because of the cost of petrol, I've got to say...yes.
As one who supports the Deep Green Resistance, I've got to say - it won't make any difference.

I saw an article about a car powered by compressed air - I still haven't decided if it's a gag. Google it, it's another one of those crazy "only to be released in Inia type things".

Re: Light Cycles - Own One!
You call that a light cycle?!

This is not a Light Cycle.
This is a Light Cycle.

(To the tune of "You call that a knife?")

Re: Light Cycles - Own One!
One thing I really don't get about the sexy new lightcycles in Legacy is how the hell are you supposed to see anything closer than like 50 feet in front of you? That front wheel must really block your vision, particularly if you're coming up on somebody.
I guess that's just the ex-professional mountain bike racer in me talking.

Re: Light Cycles - Own One!
considering the speed of the machines I guess there must be some kind of navigation system to help compensate for the human factor; so I'd say a HUD or a screen displaying info and adapting the demands of the pilot to the situation(a bit like jet fighters)
In which case the front wheel would be part of that system, to cope with all the forces involved in correcting high speed trajectory changes ?

Are you two guys trying to rationalize the navigation of this? Really.

I imagine he just uses the Force, Doh!

well yes and no, I was just trying to see if you could actually come up with a theory that would validate the cheesy view of the future found in Tron, both past and present.
Didn't need to succeed, just to try...
PS:
The Force ???
Light Cycle ???
did you do that on purpose and am I really slow tonight ?
(don't answer that unless to say what I want to hear, whatever the fuck that would be after 8 hours of sitting in front of my screens)

Tron isn't set in the future. It's inside a computer.lotek wrote:well yes and no, I was just trying to see if you could actually come up with a theory that would validate the cheesy view of the future found in Tron, both past and present.

I meant past Tron(1982) and future Tron(2010).Freakzilla wrote:Tron isn't set in the future. But you have a point though, when is the original story set , is it the 80s ? I don't remember that detail...
