That's sad news. I exchanged a few e-mails with him last year after I reviewed one of his stories on the Law & SF Blog. I got the feeling that he and Jeanne were relaxing, doing a lot of nothing and enjoying each other's company.
Now I'm inspired to reread Stardancer. She had a big hand in those novels.
