Just finished all 16 Dune novels in chronological order

God, that was a classic. Legendary epic fail.

I can still picture the email from TheKevin: "Byron, you dumbass: we're changing from one title to another totally different title! Don't make me fire you, peasant!"

I guess chronological depends on where your standing. If you read them in Publish date order, then thats whole different story.

If you read them in the Order that TheJacket and FartBlocker want, then you have McDune and Canon. I have Wiffs of Dune, just havent brought myself to read it yet.

Wow, thats amazing you managed to read the doggerel but not become tainted by it while reading the original dune. I stopped after hunters and decided I'd rather kill myself than finish it. But then again I did start out by reading the original. lol. That probably has something to do with it.

I am relieved to read you had read Dune before you started your self-flagellation of reading the McDune crap as well.

I can assert that attentively reading the McDune prequels might prove to be a solidly verifiable technique for achieving a lifespan *briefer* than that of fresh-minted Second Looie stepping out of an APV in downtown Saigon, or even of a reader of Vogon Poetry; and I've even (half-seriously) joked about recommending them as a non-detectable, readily portable Last Resort for charter members of the Hemlock Society.
