Unless they've changed some of the backend techy gubbins which I'm ignorant about, the differences involve some changes to icons and the recent inclusion of "HD" resolution options.

I can't see any recent looking changes.
The last bad ones were the removal of star-ratings from the related videos list (so you can't choose what people have actually rated as good) and the removal of the "Videos watched" counter - although that's less bad.. just annoying - I'd watched over 7,000 videos and I was a bit proud of that

They ditched the star rating system, which I don't like at all. I wouldn't have minded if they'd added the like-dislike counter, but getting rid of the old one was unnecessary.
They also changed the commenting layout. I would have thought if they'd change the comments, it'd be to allow you to jump to Page X, whatever it may be...but no, if you're looking for an old comment someone made on a very popular video, you've STILL got to flip endlessly through thousands of comments.
Virtually nothing they've changed in the past couple of years has been for the better. They've either made it worse or just changed it to something else I (and everyone else) has to get used to for no good reason. Facebook has done the same thing tons of times. Granted, I rarely use FB, so it's not much of an inconvenience to me.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Overall, Facebook is much more better than it was - they finally got rid of that redundant "Home" button.
