Greetings!
Hello All!
I've been lurking for a while now and decided to stop being lazy and actually sign up. I'm a lifelong fan of the works of FH. I first read Dune over 20 years ago, when my dad gave me a copy that he had read and enjoyed. Been hooked ever since. I have read a lot of sci-fi in my time but Dune has always been my favourite in the genre. I recently upgraded my battered paperbacks with the newly released hardcover editions and having re-read all six I wanted to find somewhere to hang out and chat with like minded folks who share a passion for the works of FH. I have to say there are some very knowledgable people around here and I look forward to participating on these boards. When looking for a forum I did check out DN but the less said about that place the better. Oddly it was the censorship and poor treatment of those who do not enjoy KJA's writing that lead me here! I have read some of his 'Dune' and was not impressed to say the least. His latest attempt to denounce FH's canon had my blood pressure soaring and it was good to find a forum dedicated to the true Dune novels. Thanks also to Freakzilla for responding to me so quickly by email and sorting out my account activation.

I don't think the author should make the reader do that much work - Kevin J. Anderson
We think we've updated 'Dune' for a modern readership without dumbing it down.- Brian Herbert
There’s an unwritten compact between you and the reader. If someone enters a bookstore and sets down hard earned money(energy) for your book, you owe that person some entertainment and as much more as you can give. - Frank Herbert

Welcome. As you see, there are many here who hold knowledge when it comes to Dune (and to few other things as well
)
Hope to get to know you better.

Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

Khull Wahad! Wasn't expecting such a warm welcome. Many thanks and looking forward to getting to know you folks. I'll probably regret it later but ...
Hopefully I'll have some free time this evening to have a proper read of the latest threads. For now I better get back to work!

You'll be hooked.

Your handle reminds me of a T-shirt I wore in highschool.
Had a drawing of Ziggy on it with the caption...
"It's you and me against the world...personally I think we're out numbered."
And oh by the way... I LOVE Ziggy

Eyes High, Your not the first to make that connection but I'm actually named after my dog! He passed away some years ago but that co-incided with signing up to my first forum, and at the time I couldn't think of a better name so went with Ziggy and it's stuck ever since.

sorry for the late post, as usual I arrive when the party's over
anyway if you hate obnoxious pricks(the Hack and his cohorts) and like intelligent discussion that cannot keep a straight course(that's us), you'll like life at Sietch Jacurutu
