me,too.
and as pulphope pointed out in his commentary,
this episode lent nicely to a one-page telling.

Re: Muad'dib - Wednesday Comic Format
Very nice rendering in deed, I never fully understood the meaning behind this. Nice to know that some one out there is dedicated enough to keep the soul of Dune alive when producing material for it.
About the FH recordings, I've never EVER listened to his voice, I have no idea what he sounds like and would be most interested in hearing him read Dune. I am sure if I google it I could find something out there on the net but how would I know I was actually listening to FH?

He has an odd voice that doesn't match how he looks, you'd expect a lower pitch from a man with such a beard.

Re: Muad'dib - Wednesday Comic Format
working on getting those audios myself for collections. The comic strip is very nicely done, kinda has a heavy metal feel to it to me.
As for FH and audio, does he say Harkonnen, "harca-nen (sound like number ten)" or does he say it like lynch movie " har-coh-nun" ?
Ive always leaned towards the lynch pronunciation...like when (in movie, quote is not in book as far as I know) Kyle as paul says "We will hunt and kill until no Har-coh-nun breaths Arakeen air" just seems to have more punch to it than the other way.
:::Shrugs:::
just curious

Re: Muad'dib - Wednesday Comic Format
I'm really impressed by this little comic. It really does have a Heavy Metal/Moebius feel to it, or a 70's comic feel, which I've always liked. DC did a small series called "Time Warp," which was a collection of end-of-the-world stories, with aliens, etc. And this really reminds me of it.
A couple teeny criticisms:
1.) More troublesome than Stilgar (I think) not wearing his facemask is Paul not wearing his stillsuit hood. However, the hair looks good.
3.) I'd like to see the artist tighten up his depiction of the 'thopter. But that's just me.
2.) He spelled "Muad'Dib" wrong.
Is there anyplace I can find more from this artist, Dune-related or not?

I don't recommend anyone drink their thigh pad water. It tastes really bad, like ass and dirt.

Why would that make a difference?RedHeadKevin wrote:I know just what I'd say.... BURN ALL YOUR NOTES!!! EVEN THE ONES IN THE SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX!!!Gotta love him. Man what I would give for 5 minutes to talk to him.

Burn him? Issue a press release saying "my son is a retard when it comes to literature, you can't trust his claims, fabrication or beliefs about my work"?RedHeadKevin wrote:DON'T GIVE YOUR SON THE OPPORTUNITY!!!
Seriously, though - who would think they ever had to defend their legacy against their own flesh and blood?

Re: Muad'dib - Wednesday Comic Format
Preferably the HLP will keep whatever notes they have and preserve them, not burn them, so later generations can release them or at least put them with the other Herbert collections. i wouldn't hold out for them until at least several years after kja gets the heave-ho.

Or BoBo bites it.
That'll be a shark feeding frenzy worthy of Discovery or NatiGeo.
Edit:
Byron's been farting out his facial anus quite a bit lately about things "eventually" being handed over to reference libraries and the sort.
Time will tell, I suppose. But of course his mind may change once he's one of the movers and shakers.

Yeah, Safari keeps telling me his blawg RSS feed has updated (2 posts I haven't read now, it says), but I seriously couldn't give a fuck. You mentioned pix, though? That might be worth a fly by, just to grab them for later mayhem.
So Merritt merited a mention, huh? Throw yer bowwow a bone!
(When Myro mentions "Higher Ups", he means Kevin only, you know.
)
Edit: "Throw him a bone" reminded me of something I saw over on DN: someone actually referred to the threatened Irulan "Hero" novel as ... The Thrown of Dune.

It must be a reference to how everyone who can actually think while they read wants to THROW the books across the room! AH AH AH ... HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
I swear to GAWD they must spread something sweet on their buttocks that just DRAWS the stupid up out of the ground and out of the woodwork!
