More Opeth: Ghost of Perdition
Lot of ups and downs (feel-wise, that is. Not quality) in their music.

Yeah I think I mentioned the first time I brought them up they are practically a love/hate band.

Re: The Music Suggestion Thread
Found these guys today, described by another as Meshuggah-ish instrumental prog metal.
I have no idea what that really means but on listening to them I was blown away: Animals As Leaders
In case it doesn't load up the same, I suggest Tempting Time first...

Pretty good, definitely very prog. Not particularly Meshuggah-esque though, they probably just said that because of the odd time signatures and extreme detuning/8 string guitars.SadisticCynic wrote:Found these guys today, described by another as Meshuggah-ish instrumental prog metal.

I watch Noggin a lot with the little ones, caught this the other day but did not realize they had it online too (I guess it makes sense just haven't ever been to the webpage). Great network for the little ones. I love that there are no real commercials. My daughter loves Z she always gets stoked for him.Freakzilla wrote:Bob Marley - Three Little Birds (on Noggin)

I used to love watching Noggin with my kids. Everything on there was so sweet and nice. Now its Barbie movies and Transformers episodes.Dune Nerd wrote:I watch Noggin a lot with the little ones, caught this the other day but did not realize they had it online too (I guess it makes sense just haven't ever been to the webpage). I am just trying to enjoy the semi-peace and limit the remote control access that they get. (Right now it is zero but the boy is smart he has figured out how to do the DVDs on his own...time to hide the pr0n)Omphalos wrote:I used to love watching Noggin with my kids. Re: The Music Suggestion Thread
I get all the old Noggin shows "on-demand" and commercial free from Comcast, the little ones still don't know the difference between a TV show and on-demand. I get frustrated when they ask to watch a broadcast show again when it's over.Omphalos wrote:I used to love watching Noggin with my kids. Everything on there was so sweet and nice. Re: The Music Suggestion Thread
I was suprised with about $40 of PPV movies on my last cable bill, time for me to password the remote, too. What really pissed me off is one of the movies we have on DVD.Dune Nerd wrote:I am just trying to enjoy the semi-peace and limit the remote control access that they get. My cousin and his dad came down from Oregon and stayed at my aunt's, and when they left it was found the kid had bought porn off the TV. It's hilarious because of all the factors involved... He's 16, so not a total naive kid... There's a computer right in that room that he could have used with limited evidence... And my aunt is a fire-and-brimstone Christian.

have you heard Meshuggah? I don't think they sound much like the band you listed.SadisticCynic wrote:Ah, I got the prog metal bit (I like that sort of thing) just not the Meshuggah bit.A Thing of Eternity wrote:Pretty good, definitely very prog. Re: The Music Suggestion Thread
I just saw a teenage girl at the grocery store wearing an Iron Maiden The Trooper t-shirt.
I wanted to say something to her, but I was afraid.
