there's really no subconscious depth to BH/KJA, but there is more fun. I wouldn't really try and compare the 2 FH vs BH/KJA, there is a lot of difference. FH seemed to have a message to impart, something that seeps in and never goes away. BH/KJA are just bringing back that universe, so you get more of the characters and story, which is very cool, just not any of the message, that's o k, Frank put enough in himself.

I don't mean to moderate here, but is this just another thread of the many that evolved into yet another FH vs BH/KJA thread?

Exactly! This is my main point against the arguments of people like Nebiros. What is so holy about FH's work that makes him infallible? I mean, I can think of a certain other bearded Dune writer who is much more of a Jesus-like figure in my mind. But I don't want to make this a religious argument.

What I'm really getting at is how the original six books are relatively dull compared to the new adventures. I read them a long time ago once, but I've read Sandworms like twice! I'm in the middle of Winds right now, just got to the part where Bronso and Paul try to see the navigator. Very cool stuff, and it adds a lot to the character of Paul Atreides.

Any more? You can just read your precious books by FH and ignore these. I'd like some of these people I've seen on Amazon.com to come over here. There're only like seven of them.
