De-humanising the grunts was definitly intentional. The way they are written it always feels like a bunch of goons and "the Lieutenant with a face", I was trying to visualize that interpretation. While it isn't shown in this image, I draw the grunts (w/goggles) with skull shaped mask (covered by a Fremen forearm in this instance). I know it's never really described exactly what type of protective helmets the Harkonnen wore, and that "skull shaped" was definitly never used. But my design of them takes into account the Harkonnen pention for using human fear to their advantage. I know "skulls" are more than cliche', but they do have documented use in warfare and effect on the human psyche (death's heads and what not), I was thinkling the Harkonnens could have an appriciation of that history.DuneFishUK wrote:Ya know.. - I think he's right.
