I was just reading up on the official Dune blog, and who would have guessed that I'd come across such amazingly useful info about Kevin's wife's pampering? It's actually quite interesting to me, since I've got such dry skin (especially in the afternoons)... Perhaps Kevin could be asked which specific treatments Rebecca benefits from, as I'd love to hear it. I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled on the blog for that follow-up...

Well, the thread is gone now, to my dismay... Why is KJA allowed to express his enthusiasm for his wife's spa treatments, but I'm not??? Apparently, discussing the blog entries is a no-no...Rakis wrote:Drunken Idaho wrote:http://www.dunenovels.com/phpBB2/viewto ... 4568#64568DrunkenDuncan wrote: One of the recent Dune blogs has really sparked my interests regarding spa treatments:

You'll have to start you own spa-treatment thread... in the Paul of Dune forum.

WHAT THE FUCK HAS THAT SHIT GOT TO DO WITH THE OFFICIAL DUNE SITE?Monday was Rebecca's birthday; I had arranged for the steward to bring a bunch of balloons and put them around our cabin door, which surprised her when she got up. Her parents sent roses. Rebecca also had her second spa treatment, and she and I watched the "Sex & the City" movie in the ship theater that afternoon, then met her parents for dinner (our nightly routine).

No kidding. He didn't even bother to fake it that time by throwing in a meaningless Dune note in the 17th paragraph or even by name-dropping Bri-Bri.
That is one pure 100-percent Dune-free blog post right there.

Just the amount of useless, needless, superficial and redundant info is unbelievable. He thinks he's somekind of celebrity
how shockingly retarded and sad that is.
It really isnt that hard to show people what he really is, the idiot provides all the proof necessary. With what he does with books, the hack definition article, the contradictory stories about the "supposed" dune 7 notes, his attitude towards criticism and his blawg exploitations; all this is material enough to bring about a chemical reaction that could create a supernova of idiocy.

In the other thread, Seraphan called it the "Dawn of the Dead" edition over there. Some of the zombies are rather restless, though:

Mr. Berg, we Dune fans have waited for over forty years to see a Dune production, and i mean a good one, not like David Lynch's gothic version or the cheap miniseries. We r tired of hollywood making HORRIBLE movies with retarded storylines and plots. The only reason Hollywood has succesful movies is becasue u producers put tons of special effects and action to cover up the retarded plot. Peter Berg, if u mess up our long awaited Dune movie (lol, the Dune fan's kwistaz haderach) all of us Dune fans will go to your Hollywood residency and destoy u, so dont messup the Dune movie, or we will kill u,

I've often thought Muad'dib56 & Sloey were one and the same.
But Sloey is usually kidding. Muad'dib56 appears to be serious (in his own mind)

People like Muad'dib56 are the reason "tard" became a affix for labeling lame fandoms
Which brings up a good point now that I think about it; what is the "tard" for KJA/prequel fans? Has anyone ever made one? For those not familiar with tard fandoms, you simplly affix tard (short for "retard") to the title or unique descriptor for a given franchise to which the fandom belongs. To use Star Trek as an example, you get Trektard; with Neon Genesis Evangelion, you get Evatard; and so on.
So what would it be, I wonder? Ander-tard? Preq-tard? HLP-tard?

"pretard" just rolls off the tongue, I like it. may start using that one for someone who's not quite an idiot yet, but has definite potential.
"preqtard" is more definitive.
I don't know, tho, "Andertard" rolls off the tongue nicely, too ....
Muad'dib56 is less than 16 years old, if his posts are to be believed. It's hard to tell what's he's actually read, he's like Sloey in that one post will be pointless bullshit, and then one will have some substance. (kinda like me as well, now that I think about it. Maybe these two are my lost spawn - Muad'dib56 is not far from me, and I've spent more than a few blurry nights in his hometown ....

I just asked because he's complaining about "retard plots". Felt the irony right there.
Maybe "Kevtard"? But Andertard sounds good. I just remembered that quote from Alan Moore:
"Now, as I understand it, the bards were feared. (...) You piss off a bard, and forget about putting a curse on you, he might put a satire on you. And if he was a skilful bard, he puts a satire on you, it destroys you in the eyes of your community, it shows you up as ridiculous, lame, pathetic, worthless, in the eyes of your community, in the eyes of your family, in the eyes of your children, in the eyes of yourself, and if it's a particularly good bard, and he's written a particularly good satire, then three hundred years after you're dead, people are still gonna be laughing at what a twat you were."

"The Craft" - interview with Daniel Whiston, Engine Comics (January 2005)
But he also says it in the documentary "The Mindscape of Alan Moore"

I don't like Kevin J Anderson... but I do like Gerry Anderson - so Andertard doesn't work for me
Pre-tard / Preqtard work well though
