Something amusing
I was reading the last few pages of House Atreides the bit when KJA is talking crap lol. He says how he hoped that he could write the books with BH in the hopes that FAITHFUL Dune fans would have an ending to Chapterhouse. I find it most amusing that it is us FAITHFUL fans who hate his work.

Yeah, and we're rare too. So rare in fact, one wonders how so few naysayers can possibly generate so much negative press, it's like there's several in every crowd. Maybe its the kwisatz haderach, the one who can be many places at once
It is rather amazing that after all the negative commentary, both civil and belligerent, it hasn't once entered KJA's mind that either he never should have written Dune novels or that he isn't worthy to write them. You have to admit, if nothing else, the total denial of reality is VERY impressive. Granted, he does have the support mechanism of both consumers that adore mediocrity and at least a portion of the critical establishment paid off/honestly celebrating mediocrity themselves. But that only goes so far and KJA's use of "Talifan" to attack his critics proves he support mechanism isn't as supportive as he needs it to be.

Yet each and everyone one were fans of the originals long before any of these new ones came out. It is interesting also when you read these people who like both sets of books are mostly fans out read one of the prequals and decided to read the original set. Maybe its like the remake vs original in movies you'll have the remake if you've seen the original first.SandChigger wrote:Oh, but we're not "faithful" fans, we're just fanboy "haters".

Re: on Simon and KJA
He usually shows up when he has some new artwork to self-promote, but I think he's been too busy cyberblowing Byron and KJA lately to do much drawing or painting.Sole Man wrote:Where is Simon? I don't see him much on this board...
I could be wrong about that, though.
