Buer Agarves brings Alia the message from Stilgar that Duncan had killed Javid and Duncan had provoked Stilgar into a rage he'd killed him. Stilgar has taken Ghanima, Irulan and whoever else wanted to go into the desert. Alia appoints Agarves as the new naib of Tabr upon him bringing her Stilgars head. She orders Agarves to be bathed and perfumed before being brought to her chambers to discuss plans for taking Stilgar. Alia goes to her rooms, stamps her foot bruising it on Idaho's discarded Atreides Swordmaster belt buckle and flings herself on her bed in tears to the astonishment of her ancestral memories.
