Going for ban #2, huh?Lundse wrote:Thank you all
I'm glad my futile scuffles with TAZ at least provided some amusement.
They did get me thrown out of the place in quite a hurry, though. Maybe I did not take his personal attacks sufficiently meekly for Byrons taste?

Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

Re: Quick hi...
Welcome Lundse!! I still have a copy of your "great debate" with the Almighty Zeus (aka TAZ). I too am a fan of your TAZ beatdowns!!Lundse wrote:...seemed the polite thing to do.
My name is Kristian Lund, I live in Århus, Denmark. Dune was the first 'literature' I read and part of the reason I now study philosophy.
Anything else, don't hesitate to ask...
(shall we repost them here somewhere??)

The Almighty Zeus.TheDukester wrote:Who is this "Taz" ... and why does he seem to inspire violence upon his person?
He was apparently King Preek over on DN(and wiki, I guess?) back before I joined up over there(so, a long time ago, probably back when the Legends books were still being written/published). Apparently, there were epic debates between TaZ and SC, Freak, TMB, and maybe some others? I don't know the exact list, but some of the core OH faction.
TaZ is what I like to call "the great justifier." It seemed he would stretch logic far beyond the breaking point it justify ANYTHING from the prequel novels...
He's also a KJA fanboy and apparently does alot of those blinky graphics you'll find on KJA's MySpace. SOME suspect TaZ even meets up with KJA for lunches, or something like that.

Have fun.

Is it a true sentence?
Well...that would depend on its truth conditions, no? Shall we engage in a model theoretic semantic analysis? (NO!!!)
Or do you mean, is it a real sentence, acceptable as a complete sentence?
Sure, why not? In context.
It contains an ellipsis (objective noun phrase or infinitival phrase complement) in a way that "Jesus wept" does not, of course.
Blah blah blah...I could go on and on!
