Nothing against Asimov or those characters. I suppose they could be sort of polar opposites. Not so sure M&D had humanities best interests in mind or followed any kind of laws. It's been a long time since I read those books though. I've been trying to push Caves of Steel on my kid.

I had just finished a reread of all six Dune novels, and for some strange reason Daneel's journey popped into my addled brain as I read that final Daniel & Marty scene at the end of Chapterhouse. I haven't read the later Robot/Foundaton stuff in ages either, so another go at those will be fun.

There's a few similarities between Dune and Foundation. You could think of the BG as a kind of (second?)Foundation.
