Introduction
Hi there everybody. Been a lurker here for a long time, and finally decided to make an account.
Huge fan of original Herbert, owner of all 6 of the canonical novels. Struggling my way through the last few pages of Chapter house.
Goes without saying that I despise everything that KJA has produced.
Anyway, looking forward to discussing the genius of Frank Herbert with all of the lovely people here.
Please forgive my username.

Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

Re: Introduction
Hi all, nice to be here
I read Dune way back when I was far too young to appreciate it. I've since picked it up now in my 3rd decade and have found it well received. I've very recently completed Chapterhouse and contemplating to continue to the posthumously published works. (I assume this is a frequent query on these boards)
Nice to be here, and perhaps meet other nice people.

Thanks for the question. That's a difficult choice, given the depth and realism of all of the protagonists in the Dune series.Godemperorjames wrote:Who's your favorite character, Wolf? I would have to pick Jessica, because she is so conventionally human and emotional, and yet so pragmatic. She is the perfect combination of human compassion ("Tell that to Chani") and rigorous intellectualism. She commits a sin, an act of pure human rebellion, introducing a wild card that eventually causes the rise of Leto II and the Scattering. She is the most human and real character in the Duniverse.
What about you?

Darwi Odrade for a similar reason! I felt she was so down to earth but overwhelmingly powerful. I really liked how it never felt like she was emulating masculinity.
