Fortunately this only happens ever few years. Those of us who know what to expect stay home or leave early.

The problem was that once it started snowing in the middle of the day, everyone left at once. Schools, businesses and government. At that point the snow wasn't the problem, it was melting as it hit the road. Once the sun went down it turned the roads and interstates into a sheet of ice.
Makes me wonder what would happen in a real emergency. Remember that sceen from the Walking Dead?

Leto II is gone for good, except for OM. The "pearl" was just that; a miniscule portion of what Leto was, and not a compressed version of the whole. The pearl that the worms have do not make them Leto, or in any way similar to him.
