Hi. I'm Dom, a video editor from the UK. I guess I have to describe myself as an 'Orthodox' Dune fan. I love the original six Frank Herbert novels, but find the subsequent books from the Herbert Estate not to be my cup of tea.

For example, I always assumed The Butlerian Jihad was an intellectual revolution that led to violence, rather than a rebellion against evil killer robots created by internet gamers in exosuits who enslaved mankind!

I also assumed the characters at the end of Chapterhouse: Dune were super-Face Dancers, rather than 'evil Killer Robots!'

So here I am, apparently an 'Orthodox' having found this site through Facebook. I adore Dune and am endlessly fascinated by its complex background and philosophy. I look forward to chatting about it with y'all!

I don't bash the prequels too much, since without them I'd have never gotten into Dune. Oh well.

I'm an OH to the core, but my first copy of Dune was the commemorative edition that sold to try and drum up interest again, and sow ground for the prequels.

I check out a bit on the "discussions" going on that Dune group and though I recognized a few people, seems like most are retarded preeks...or did I miss something?
