I think today was the first day of Summer in Atlanta. They say we have two seasons, Summer and Christmas.

There's an underwater Easter-egg hunt at the local aquatic center next month.

The pollen count in Atlanta has broken the record set more than 10 years ago.

Monday’s pollen count is 8,164 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air. The previous record, set April 12, 1999, was 6,013 particles of pollen per cubic meter.

Channel 2 meteorologist David Chandley said May-like temperatures are to blame for the increased pollen count.

The average high for this time of year is 66, but highs have reached the low to mid-80s for several days in a row, causing all the trees to pollinate at the same time.

Today's is 9,368.

Hit 94F today, it's been about ten degree's hotter than normal this last week. Today the winds picked up, blowing a steady 30ish with gusts of 45-50, the basin had enough dust in the air that looking out over white sands resembled Arrakis.

I flew into Las Vegas today at about 2:30. The wind was blowing so hard I thought we were going to die. Did one of those landings where the pilot brought us in practically sideways, faced into the wind. Turned to align with the runway at the very last second and bounced the ever-loving shit out of the back, right wheel. I swear in my mind a wing broke off and people went flying out of the cabin. And I am not a nervous flyer.
