In fact, we had a frickin' THUNDERSTORM, complete with lightning strikes, around 3:00 AM. WTF?!
(One strike was so close and the thundercrash so loud I nearly shat myself like Brian Herbert!

I mean, it's THREE DAYS till Christmas. What the hell?
(This isn't the first thunderstorm we've had this winter, either. There was at least one back in November, and another earlier this month. The earlier December one didn't really hit here in Iwaki—it moved inland before cutting loose—but I watched the lightning in the clouds all the way up the highway from Mito. (It was quite... striking! )
Freaky weather, to be sure.

I saw the lunar eclipse and it was awesome. The sky was clear, and when the moon was completely behind shadow, it was really dramatic. Happy Memorial Day. Just got back from West Virginia.
