I've kinda taken the Dukester's "Wait & See" attitude on some of the new recruits,
unless they strike me well early on .... and so I guess I'm probably missing some over all ...

Latin politeness & courtesy, I presume. The Italians are a very courteous and polite people. This is very pleasant and also reminds me of my own Latin heritage, where courtesy, and how one treats others in public is very important.
