MLB
I know that there will be plenty of people saying that baseball is boring, and I agree, I watch one or two regular season games, but I get into the playoffs almost every year. Is your team in it this year? Are you having fun watching those damn Red Sox choke? I'm not as big of a fan of the MLB as I am NFL or even NBA, but this season has been kinda interesting. And I from around New York, and am a Yankees fan, so watching the Sox choke is pretty hilarious.
I say the Yanks take the Series in six games against the Phillies. Your thoughts?

My Braves are trying to blow their chances in historic fashion so I don't care anymore.

Yeah, these wild card races are really heating up! I forgot to mention the NL side, in which the Braves and the Cardinals are tied.
I doubt the Phillies will have their hearts in this one, so the Braves can probably win. We'll see though, the Braves and Red Sox both had pretty historical falls.

There's no love lost between the Braves and Phillies, trust me. Besides, I think the Phillies could beat them without trying.Sandwurm88 wrote:Yeah, these wild card races are really heating up! I forgot to mention the NL side, in which the Braves and the Cardinals are tied.

Just like I expected, the Braves came from ahead to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Re: Playoffs (Part 2) MLB!
My condolences to Braves and Sox fans (not really the Sox fans though )
And yeah, everyone outside of the Philly metro area seems to loathe those guys. I guess having the stacked bullpen of Halladay, Hamels, and Lee can get them pretty cocky. My uncle, aunt, and cousin are all die-hard Mets fans, and apparently my cousin, who is twenty seven and a former Navy officer, almost beat the shit out of a eighty year old Phillies fan who was running his mouth at Shea. I've only been to a fews Yankees games, no fights in my section so far...
And now, finally, the playoffs are here, and we'll get to see if Verlander is the messiah everyone makes him out to be. (C.C Sabathia will match him in the playoffs, I think)

I understand cocky. We went 13 years straight as division champions. Atlanta expects nothing less than World Series contention from the Braves.

That's good because the Ranger are going to kill 'em.

The Rangers are a good team... sometimes the Rays surprise everyone, though.

Zooey Deschanel Knocks the National Anthem Out of the Park at the World Series
Admit it. You were at home, ready to see how Albert Pujols would fare against 25-year-old Derek Holland, and that's when you saw the steely blue eyes of Zooey Deschanel -- eyes that peered across amber waves of grain, directly through your television and into your beer-guzzling soul, unleashing your inner unicorn.

She's cute. I tried to watch her new show but it's not my cup of tea.

BTW, whatever it is they play in the American League, it's not baseball:
Rule 1.01 to 1.04
1
1.00—Objectives of the Game.
1.01 Baseball is a game between two teams of nine players each, under direction of a
manager, played on an enclosed field in accordance with these rules, under jurisdiction of
one or more umpires.

I'm going to change the name of this topic to 'MLB', if anyone cares. If you do, you're out.
