Hello from Dallas
Hi Everyone,
I'm Chris. I'm a huge fan of the original books of Dune. I think there is so much profound wisdom in them.
Favorite book is probably GEOD (not most people's I know) second fave is Chapterhouse Dune.
Favorite quote: “Seek freedom and become captive of your desires. Seek discipline and find your liberty" - If you always look for the easy way, you don't grow near as much as if you plunge fully into learning. Once you create a habit of learning, freedom is the result.
I also love how political patterns talked about in the books mirror what's happening in the US today, and how Frank Herbert gives us insight into people's behavior in the books that absolutely rings true in real life.
Glad to be on this forum.. I never have a chance to discuss these books.
Cheers!
Chris

Good Day!
You've picked a quote that lives on my list of favorites, I look forward to discussing the books with you!

Leto II is gone for good, except for OM. The "pearl" was just that; a miniscule portion of what Leto was, and not a compressed version of the whole. The pearl that the worms have do not make them Leto, or in any way similar to him.
