I don't think the author should make the reader do that much work - Kevin J. Anderson
We think we've updated 'Dune' for a modern readership without dumbing it down. - Brian Herbert
There’s an unwritten compact between you and the reader. If someone enters a bookstore and sets down hard earned money(energy) for your book, you owe that person some entertainment and as much more as you can give. - Frank Herbert

I tried that angle with my wife, obviously she doesn't want to understand.
Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

Nice job, lotek! I haven't tried making mine to read it yet since she's too busy with studies and work. She did secretly watch the Lynch movie though to see what all the fuzz is about and got grossed out by it. One comment was "I was just waiting to see when they were gonna make out with each other.." Probably referring to the Harkonnens..

I tried to do that, and it didn't work. I think you'll have better luck, though, Lotek, definitely.

Same here. I'm positive that my wife doesn't want to know how my mind works.

Some of them probably already know how y'all's minds work.
Lotek, I'm glad she's reading it. It helps when spouses have multiple things in common.

okay, you've got me re-reading the post and only thing that pops up is maybe "multiple things"
I guess I should have written multiple interests.....
