It's not BS, Jodorowsky can get off on some pretty wild tangents. The work he did for pre-production eventually ended up in a comic series called Meta-Baron's which was actually pretty wild and fun.

Man I duno, a nuetered Duke Leto, Paul Getting Killed, and and the other BS would have not been Dune in my opinion.
