Hello
Hello, I have been a Dune fan for six years now. I read the first Dune novel in eighth grade(I am now graduated from High School). I proceeded to read the next five that summer. My favorites were Dune, Dune Messaiah, and God Emperor of Dune(this one took me two reads to finally "get it"). I have also read the Dune Encyclopedia which my local library had a copy of.
I have only read one of the 'House' books, and did not really care for it all that much. The legends books by BH and KJA drive me into a rage, because they to me just contradict the spirit and flavor of Dune.
On a side note, I was also registered at Arrakeen once, though only posted a couple of times, my name there may have been 'Habighorst" though I don't really remember.

Re: Hello
Sorry, that wasn't your name. I just checked the members list, and there is no username that even resembles that. Do you remember approximately when you registered? Now I'm curious...Dr. Why wrote:On a side note, I was also registered at Arrakeen once, though only posted a couple of times, my name there may have been 'Habighorst" though I don't really remember.

Re: Hello
I believe it was sometime last summer, though I don't remember exactly when.Hypatia wrote:Sorry, that wasn't your name. I wonder what my screen name was on Arrakeen...I get so forgetful with age, y'know.
BTW, Mandy, have you joined Westros yet? Looks like a really hilarious and fun place, if a bit slow for me(well, they get more people online than we have members).

In memory of Perach, who suffered and died needlessly.
I wish I could have been with you that one last time.

Re: Hello
Perhaps you forgot that you purged the place several times of members?Hypatia wrote:Sorry, that wasn't your name. I just checked the members list, and there is no username that even resembles that. Welcome to this kind, peaceful place of daffodils, rainbows, and comb-overs! Welcome... to Jacurutu... where we take pride in never going off topic and never stooping so low as to refuse the nice suckle of the new-Dune teat.

As I recall, there were a number of problems with the skin we were using at the time -- a lot of bugs that still needed to be worked out. At least one person had to be deleted and re-register because his sig was somehow messing up the forum... I wasn't an admin at the time, so I'm not sure what really caused the problem. It's possible there may have been other accounts affected as well.
Oh, and I see from the archives that orald decreed at that time that we should all worship his dog.
