Cool and interesting FULL LENGTH videos...

Post by DuneFishUK »

Over on T(A)U Liege-Killer posted a link to genre classic (ahem) Devil Girl From Mars (1954) and that got me thinkin' --

Google Video searches loads of video sites as well as itself and when you search for something there's a dropdown called Duration and if you click > 20min it throws up some really interesting stuff: Complete and full length Films, TV and Documentaries including some absolutely blindingly good ones :)

---

I'll stick with SF, and start with a couple of eps from Out of the Unknown a 60s SF anthology series:

JG Ballard: Thirteen to Centaurus

E.M. Forster's The Machine Stops

Wall-E anybody :P I knew the themes cross over.. but this is blatant! Some cool visual trickery too.

An all time classic:

George Orwell's 1984:

http://video.google.co.uk/videosearch?q ... =0&num=10#
"... the mystery of life isn't a problem to solve but a reality to experience."

“There is no escape—we pay for the violence of our ancestors.”

Sandrider: "Keith went to Bobo's for a weekend of drinking, watched some DVDs,
and wrote a Dune Novel."

You'd becuase of my love for crappy B-movies I'd love to watch those. Well, maybe later I don't feel like it right now...

Anyway, I was picturing something totally different for an internet video named "Devil girl from mars"

I have the Orson Welles broadcast on CD. It's amazing that people bought that as an invasion. It's still pretty well done and is worth a listen.

Excellent movie!!! I never knew that they did movies that big in the UK. The sets in that thing were incredible, and they had thousands of extras. It was like one of those Hollywood Bible movies it seemed so big.

Something completely different:

Helvetica

A documentary all about everyone's favourite font. Probably one of the top ten best font-based documentaries in the world ever.... Whatever that means...
