What is Your Profession?

I thought to start this topic because...

I GOT A RAISE TODAY! :D

Mead and blowjobs for all my men!

Oh yeah... I design commercial fire alarm systems for a global corporation.

What do you do?

I handle legal matters for a large insurance company. I do a lot more for them, actually, but that is the core of my job.

Congratulations, Freak!

Congrats on the raise Freak!

I work for my family's business, a fair sized music/lighting/video equipment retail company out of Alberta.

My cards say that I'm a purchaser, but I don't really cut most of the POs, I'm more of a general purchasing related problem fixing guy. I do a lot of different things, usually fixing problems that crop up with orders or with suppliers, and LOTs of data entry.

It's a good job, I've worked for them for years back in Alberta doing sales, rentals, and service management, and I'm doing this now because they needed someone for the job and I live a province away (can work from home) and was getting damned sick of night shift at Home Depot.

International spy.

I really can't say too much more than that.

That's what I figured, sounds kinda interesting actually, but I wanted to check because I remember when I was a burger flipper I called myself a "meat patty inverting technician". I thought there was a chance you might be doing a similar thing with "telemarketer:.

Congrats Freak, would that be Seimans?
(I dealt with various fire alarm companies as a security officer, testing, inspections, troubleshooting, etc)

I recently (last 90 days) changed from Security, back to IT, my normal field. I'm a Technical Support Specialist for Major Computer Company Headquartered here in Kansas City. I monitor and troubleshoot their Output Division's systems (Mainframe, Unix, and Windows, Internet working).

Goal is 12 months getting to know their systems and network, then work upward back to my area, Network Administration. I was out of field for a break while I went back to school and finished Bachelor's in Information Technology, completed that.

OH... and after recent beer run test last month ( I hadn't had an alcohol in two years, with diabetes and some other things) that proved successful, 8 beers and no problems, I would have to say:

I AM a beer processing plant:)

Again Congrats Freak!

Educated and experienced in finance, but I'm not currently working in it. I was managing accounts for an exhibition park but I'm currently managing an office for a software company while looking for a real job.

Anyone who can count to 10 is being encouraged to teach maths these days. As it happens, im going to be the head of chemistry next year too, as i'm the only one here, and it turns out we're a bit short of them too.

Technical Manager (it's just a title) for a small GIS company specializing in E9-1-1 Response mapping. Basically I make phone calls, create and edit spreadsheets, and every now and then I get to play with GIS data.

Nice!

I'm a modelmaker.

The company I working for is doing a model accelerator/synchrotron something from down Oxford way atm. Interesting stuff - it's at times like this I wish I could count proper (which was the main reason I was crap at physics) :P :)
