dunenovels.com : a question

My Young Brethren, a question:

as I have stated, I am an Old Man, unfamiliar with Ways of the Net

I have seen dunenovels.com promoted as the “Official Website of Dune”

however, after wandering aimlessly there
and then discovering the other forums,
is not this “website” in fact a “free hosted forum” ?
(as is JACURUTU) ?

the question:
why, with the Untold Wealth now available to The Heirs,
is the “Official” site such a cheap, shoddy, Un-interesting place ?

do they not realise the Disservice they are doing Themselves ?
a man going to this site would conclude that the Corporation
that has become the Dune Legacy is either un-interested in
providing content to their public, is incapable of doing so,
or is, in fact, managed by fools ....

I think you've figured them out.

The webmaster of the Dune Novels website is Mike Anderson, uncle of Kevin J. Anderson.

It is unclear whether he is paid for his services, or whether the free and pervasive links to his nephew's website which he is allowed to place throughout DN represent some sort of payment in kind.

Dune Novels is a thoroughly uninteresting and uninspiring site. But given who's controlling it, why should it be anything else?

my thanks

ahhh, you see ?
I did NOT understand

somehow, I had only discovered the Boy's Forum,
and thought THAT to be the website itself

but, on perusing the actual site
I find that it is ghafla as well

dunenovels.com/FAQs:

In the DUNE classic, Jessica tells Yueh that they have known
each other for six years. How can this be when she meets him
in HOUSE CORRINO? Also in the DUNE classic, Yueh wonders
why Wandra never gave him children. In the prequels we are told
that she lost her womb in an industrial accident.

There is more to the story (fifteen years between HOUSE CORRINO
and DUNE), and we will fill in the answers in a planned later volume.
While Jessica met Yueh briefly when he was tending Rhombur, the
doctor did not come to be a part of the Atreides household‹and close
to Jessica -- until six years before DUNE. Yueh later learns that Wandra¹s
injury did not, in fact, make her incapable of bearing children -- but the
Sisterhood had commanded her not to conceive

WHO THE FUCK IS WANDRA ????

Seriously... Who is Wandra? I thought it was Wanna...

They're not changing all the names now, are they?

Already, it's been Paolo, Wandra, what next?

 Did they use Wandra or Wanna in the House books?

I wanna girl,
just like the girl
that married dear old...Yueh!

Her name was Wanna in Dune. The idiots didn't get it wrong in the books, just on the site.

There was also a Wandra Butler in the Legends books:
He kept replaying over and over again what he had just experienced, how he wanted to be with Wandra again in the same way. It was a perverse thought, but so powerfully compelling that it frightened and delighted him at the same moment.

Oh, GAWD, yes yes yes! Let me imagine reliving old sexual encounters, just like Quentin does here!

Yawn.

I actually just came over from dunenovels.com. Days went by with no activity in the "for lovers of classic dune only'' forum. I hate the prequels/sequels, and there were only like 5 people who posted regularly in there on dunenovels.com. I like this site much better from what I've seen so far. Much more activity and more knowledgeable Herbert fans.

I didn't even join DN until I'd been here for a while, and I really just did it to hve some fun argueing with some of the um-less than sharp folks over there. cough-arny-cough

So yeah - glad you prefer it here, it's certainly much more interesting and honest.

On the batman talk
