from the Funeral Plain

Post by SandRider »

having wandered long in the Desert alone,
I come now seeking Sanctuary and Fellowship
with those Brothers bringing Jihad against the
Infidels who would twist the Memory and
Holy Legacy of Paul-Muad'dib, penning False
Chronicles and Untenable Plots for their own
enrichment, ignorant of the Cries of The Faithful
for Justice

may Shai-Hulud judge now.....

And I say: "Look ! I have no hands !"
But the people all around me say: "What are hands ?"

I wandered into Lord Bryon the Pretender's
Bottomless Pit of Lies and Misconceptions
in an attempt to discover the Truth of the Alleged Outlines

Truth does dwell there ....

I was shocked and appalled
I am an Old Man now,
and have little use for these machines

I did not realise the extent of these forums
I did not realise their power
I did not realise that there now exists new generations
who donot understand the differences between Literature and Pulp
between Art and Merchandise

I did not realise that these Young Pups were reading
the New False Chronicles and thinking themselves Dunemen

I felt stirred to action
to atleast shout to the Universe
that there are those among us
who take this thing seriously

I am not a humorless man
I have enjoyed the ribald and obscene ramblings found here
you are JACURUTU
you are the Cast Out

I have laughed aloud and snorted
spicebeer from my nose

I have also heard your Protests and Frustrations
you are the True Heirs of Dune

This is the age of the shrug.

That painting looks a lot like the work of Tom Baxa.

I'm not sure if the whole image would work well as an avatar. The details would likely be too small for the avatar size.

right, that's what I thought. I orginally lifted the pic from
TMB's thread of Dune Art in Dune Media here.

I personally feel that this message board, Jacurutu, is full of hateful folks who don't know
how to fully interact with people.

The signature looks like "MB" or "MR" or something similar. Anyone know who this artist is?
