that one got me for a while too because there's no reference point for the angle of the plane other than the oil rig.

imagine the expanse of the picture as flat water with oil on top of it, throwing off the colours, with an oil rig in the middle of it
I've got it now... It's an aerial shot. If you look above the rig, there's a pole sticking out and that helps with the perspective.

Geeze, it's like a magic eye...

Can somebody explain me why people continue to build wooden houses in the Gulf area?

In New Orleans we lived in a brick house. When we were moving to Georgia and the agent was showing us wooden houses, my mom told them we didn't want to live in a fishing shack.
