Did not happen. I even think twice before I delete spam, and Ragabash has been on like, twice so far. He wouldnt touch anything. Nobody touched Simon's review. Simon, if you want me to check any part of this, I am happy to. Just give me the rough time frame that you posted it, and if you use more than one computer PM me which you were using. If it was a glitch, I will happily tell the board. I think its possible that you goofed though, becasue nobody would delete a review of yours, I can promise you that.

Incidentally, is this what you are talking about?

Speaking of Amazon reviews, looks like they've deleted my old one for The Machine Crusade or Battle of Corrin...I forget which.

I can assure you I didn't do it. That goes against everything we wanted this place to be.

I'm still yet to see a review that is not a replication of the promotional material.

Is there any???

I just looked on DN and there seems to be no discussion there at all. Just one or two posts from Simon and Byron. It really seems to have fizzed from an internet impact perspective

Good. A toast to its demise!

Let it become a sepulchre
of bleached bones,
an abode of restless spirits!
Let its fora echo
with the crying of shadows
writhing in a funeral dance,
and with the loud lament
of the disconsolate chimera!

(Always fun to mix it up with T.S. ;) )

I loved Peanut Butter Jelly Time.

Still, nothing beats 2 Girls 1 Cup...

*awaits the inevitable*

(but I've already unwittingly exposed many here to that one. I need to find new bait)

:)

Here's a funny item that came up in some Google results:

Reviews of Paul of Dune written by Brian Herbert

What do you think he has to say about his own book?!

(snicker)

Considering how bad his writing is I doubt he can write a good review.

LOL :) Comedy gold. Perhaps that should be a new demotivator.

I'd be suprised if he actually read it. They don't appear to have read any of their other books.

Scroll to item #5 ... it's worth it:

http://www.examiner.com/x-562-Book-Exam ... withdrawal

(BTW, Byron, Kevvie, and preek suck-ups: we're still waiting for even one "rave professional review" to be brought to out attention. Just one).

Herbert's son has carried on the torch, producing an impressive collection of Dune sequels and prequels (including one, Paul of Dune, released last week) but none of them even faintly compare with the stellar original.
I can see Byron trying to squeeze a thin bit of milk out of "impressive collection".

Who doesn't think she's thinking sheer number of pages (and dead trees)?

(Btw, what's with the Word Count Captain over Dumb way? :? )

You stole my thought. It's always fun to see someone mistake a euphemism as honest praise :)

Oh...I'm sorry, I didn't realize...just saw it lying there and ran with it. You can have it back, I only chewed on one corner a bit.... :P

"I don't bite...hard" :)

Is anyone still posting over there? I would get a kick out of such a gushing reaction to the write up :)

As expected, Kevin has blogged about the audiobook review. (Hasn't said shit about the book slipping from the lists, of course.)

Yawn.

Brick is a damn good reader, I have the audiobooks of Dune through God Emperor and he really captures the characters. Him reading the shitbooks would actually elevate their quality.

Ever since Frank Muller's terrible injury, I'd put Brick at the top of the list for contemporary readers.

I hope he's just doing his job and chasing the checks in the same cynical fashion as the Hack/Sidekick duo and the HLP parasites. I wouldn't blame him at all.

There isn't a chance in hell that I would have made it through PoD without him. He's a damn good reader.

If I decide to subject myself to any further hackisms I'll definitely be doing it via the medium of audio while I'm working. My reading time is far too precious to waste on those bastards. :)
