It is with pleasure that I post this, Dr Russell Terence Sloan's Evolution, The Messianic Hero, and Ecology in Frank Herbert’s Dune Sequence. PhD thesis.
My 2c/p. Its a well articulated, knowledgeable, in-depth overview and analysis of Frank Herbert's Dune books. I'm sure even the most knowledgeable Dune head here will learn from it and be inspired by the points covered.
Here's the good Doc!
Evolution, the Messianic Hero and Ecology in Frank Herbert’s Dune Series (2010)
Russell Sloan’s thesis examines the dominant themes in Frank Herbert's Dune Series..
This thesis examines: Evolution, the Messianic Hero and Ecology in Frank Herbert’s Dune Series.
Dune remains one of the greatest examples of ecological science fiction, and how it has inspired
and shaped a new genre all of its own. Doc Sloan’s work can be found in a greatly enhanced
video format complete with subtitles on his YouTube Channel, Doc Sloan’s Science Fiction
Station.

I'm not sure I understand what those first two links are for. They seem to just take me to some random Youtube page. The third link requires permission...
