This short Dune summary has appeared on youtube. It's pretty funny.

I finally had a chance to look it up, and you were right. All of the weird facts listed in the video are directly from the DE. To be honest I've never taken a close look at it before, and I'm very surprised to see how much creative writing went into it. Even sadder to see parts of it pillaged and misused for the prequels.Naib wrote:The Holtzmann stuff probably comes from the Encyclopedia. At least I hope that's what he's referencing.

I know the DE isn't cannon, but I consider it cannon except where Frank contradicts it.Omphalos wrote:georgiedenbro wrote:I finally had a chance to look it up, and you were right. The DE is my third-favorite Dune book, after Dune and GEoD.
I am sure McNelly made sure all of his authors were properly motivated and properly informed. Too bad it only went that far, huh?

Me too! The DE is pretty fun to read every now and then. My library has a copy that I check out from time to time.Omphalos wrote:georgiedenbro wrote:I finally had a chance to look it up, and you were right.
