The opinions of any the Crown Jewels' citizens regarding the fact they live on planets named after a euphemism for human genitalia are not recorded by the authors.
that and the hellhole...

Looks like the Douchenet has acquired a new node.

It's actually a fairly positive review. Good for them. If their own series is successful, perhaps they'll be happy to leave the Dune universe be--or perhaps even let other authors play in it.

If by fairly positive you mean it could have been harsher, I agree.

Hmm, book reviews tend to fall on the negative side, partially because it's good economics, partially because reviewers tend to be well-read and have a modicum of writing ability themselves. This isn't a negative review, it's middling.

And it's obvious that KJA wants to attach his name to a franchise where he's not the easily replaceable part. I can wish him nothing but luck in that endeavour.

I think he might have better luck with his horror/comedy crap, that seems more his speed.

Yeah, that's all he's doing at D*C too, no SF. Hopefully he'll find his own niche and stop ruining other people's universes.

Don't count on it. I foresee an interquel between Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead called Boba-Fett of the Dead.

Before you all say it, I am in a mood today, ain't I?

Diadem Michella
I think this is where the pair of clowns actually jumped the shark.

book review seems on par with there talent, create a mess of hollow characters, in a zillion threaded backdrop, and loose plot points all over the place as they literally forget what the wrote on the pages before.

Should have called the series Asshole, the two main characters, named after them, spending their time trying to figure out how to get their heads out.

A set of planets called the Crown Jewels?? hilarious, they are idiots, published and making money, but idiots still.

We have enough talent here on boards to build a story framework, let others plug in, then submit it to the same publisher and make look bad? profits to a lawyer fund to get rights to Dune to make a movie and let some worthy author write new Dune books?

Just food for thought,

here Ill start it,
A Shadow warrior, standing on the crest of a hill, looking down the barrel of his Mark-12 Acme plasma cannon...........

Go with it from there

A buddy of mine started reading smellhole and decided to tell me about it. I told him I hadn't
read it before asking about FTL reaction engines, the mysteriously choosy 'hellish' conditions,
the generals surrender, and then couldn't leave well enough alone so I asked about the vineyards.
Poor guy didn't read another page but was impressed by how much I knew about a book I hadn't
read. I felt a little bad about it and told him about Logic and Bread.
