4-D Sound Data <Echos>

Post by Ford4D »

Hi y'all!

I'm a long time Dune fan, read the books feverishly about 8 years ago, and then some time later began to read the prequels written by Frank's son.

I'm pretty sure I ended up reading all of them, from the House series to the Butlerian Jihad series.

I still have not read the two books which to my understanding represent Dune 7, or anything else Brian-Kevin have written in recent years (I think I heard about some kind of sisterhood of Dune or something to that effect).

So please, don't ruin any details for me, lol!

I do plan on reading the two Dune 7 novels at some point.

Although perhaps subconsciously I am just biding my time for Frank's original manuscript/notes to be released/leak.

Anywho, I'm an audio engineer who specializes in mastering, so if you ever need help with a mix or the audio component of a video, please feel free to hit me up!

Peace!

-Ford
Haven't read either of the Dune 7 books yet, so please don't spoil any details for me!

Am I serious? Hmm... I suppose I am. Never thought I would be asked that here. An interesting question. How serious am I, or rather how seriously do I take myself?

I prefer to collect questions, whereas others tend to collect what they consider to be answers.

This is Ford4D.

NOT Ford Prefect.

they suck. That's it, they're ruined, you can read real books now.

yeah that's one of the stages, but you'll get over it, considering most of us agree on the fact the notes are just an overblown PR stunt.

hey that's pretty cool, I make a bit of electronica on the side (I work a lot with hardware more than computers), so it's a kind of a raw sound. Mastering has always been a mistery to me...

Please don't.

Also, welcome. You never know when your skills may be required around here. The hacks give us plenty of opportunity to find new ways to mock them. (That reminds me, I've got some videos to dub.)

Welcome. I have not had the -- uhm -- pleasure --- of reading the McDune literature. (Hey! I actually wrote that with a straight face! )

But seriously, welcome.

Oh, btw, I believe we have another member who is a sound mixer/remaster. ( not to mention, a dang good-looking musician. )
