Hello, I'm Geoff

Still haven't had a proper look around this site yet, but a quick glance showed that it's going to be right up my alley! I was introduced to 'Dune' through David Lynch's film adaptation, which I saw 17 times in the theatre when I was 14. I read the book, but had to re-read multiple times (all the while running back to the cinema every weekend to see the film again) to sort out what Frank Herbert was on about and stop looking for clues to where Lynch got some of his more rubbish ideas from (weirding modules, I'm looking at you). I got to briefly meet Frank Herbert when he came down to Melbourne the following year, and got my movie tie in paperback signed by him, still my most treasured possession. I re-read the books every few years, and decided to pick up the first one just before new year. I'm currently near the end of 'God Emperor' and loving these books as much as ever. Anyway, so hello, I'm Geoff, when I'm not obsessing over Frank Herbert's novels I edit tv and film for a living. I'm currently working on some 'Dune' based art, it's good to see there might be a small but appreciative audience for that kind of stuff.
