Terra Nova

Idea obviously stolen from Julian May's Saga of Pliocene Exile.

I'll bet my firstborn they find aliens in the past.

Haven't read the May books but it's funny you mention that last... because someone suggested it in a thread in the Science Fiction forum over on Amazon. Great minds, huh?

(I myself was figuring on a heretofore undiscovered and therefore unknown species of intelligent sauroid, but I like the aliens idea better. )

(I think the premiere is/was tonight? I'm intentionally NOT going to watch any of it. Idea is stupid, I fucking hate most time travel stories, it looks too much like Millennium meets Avatar meats Jurassic Park. No thank you. )

Why don't you people listen to me? That Julian May series is excellent.

It's like playing cards with my sister's kids!

I just watched a little over half the first episode, missed the whole beginning where they explain what's going on but managed to figure most of it out I think. Seemed ok, nothing too impressive (nor offensive) yet, but it's a first episode and I don't tend to judge things by the first episode!

I have not watched this yet, but I have low expectations. I just put two and two together and realized that the heavy in this show is that chucklehead colonel from Avatar. Looks like he's true to type too. And I read something about an 8 year old stow away? WTF?

isnt it about time for a new star trek series? or are we stuck with JJ abrahms and the theater stuff for a while? Still not comfortable with Siler and Spock, creepy, and him tongue n tongue with O'hura... just wrong.

Bring back Farscape or firefly, SAAB, something worthwhile.

I lost faith after Stargate Universe (overly large POS of a show)

When I first heard of tera nova (there is a PC game from days old named this, completely different premise) I mainly thought of the old PC/Console game Turok the dinosaur hunter.

I have a unique ability to turn my brain off when it comes to filmed SF. As long as there's pretty girls I could pretty much care less, I have near-zero expectations from the genre/medium combination.

The leader's daughter is cute, I don't want to know how old she is. The doctor is pretty, too.

I actually liked the few episodes of Stargate Universe I saw, it still had the trademark cheese factor of the franchise, but less so, and overall it seemed much better put together.

I don't think it's his daughter, she said her parents died and I think he's just looked out for her. She is pretty good looking though, I'm sure she's a least 20, doesn't look the age her character is hinted at being at all.
