I'm not gonna read that.

Couldn't make it past page 3 either. I think they're quality of writing has actually degraded since Dune 7.

Anari Idaho? A swordmaster? The direction this character will take isn't obvious or anything.

Yeah, I bounced off it pretty soon, as well. No immersion whatsoever.
Serena Butler’s Jihad may be over, but now we must continue the
i ght against a more insidious and challenging enemy— human weakness
for technology and the temptation to repeat the mistakes of the past.
Sir? Um ... isn't that two enemies?

Of course. Expect it to get even worse yet. Why should they put any effort into it at this point. They know Steve's Pizza Pals will eat it up.

So swordmasters are now paladins of mankind, I thought the bitches of nutssak were the magical ones. Even their metaphors are all just filler.

I thought it was pretty easy ... I saw the twit, clicked the link, downloaded the pdf,
saved it as text, ctrl-A, drag&drop to the reply box (in between the quote code that
was a one-clicker, too)

I mean, I didn't actually read any of it ...

oh yeah, and Keith?
I didn't read it, at all, and I still think it sucks Cartman's balls ...
not fair, you say?
lemme tell you a little story about my Idiot Brother's pecker and a racoon trap ...

Well, I was talking about the reading part of it. ;)
:?: :!:

Hey, maybe I'll let my Mac read it to me! You know, to get the full "in the tradition of the ancient story-teller" KJA shit-from-mouth oral experience! :D

I'm not joking, I will pay good money to keep Kevin J. Anderson and that retarded imp Brian Herbert away from anything related to Dune. I don't care how it's managed, death, mutilation, exile, something far more creative than anything I could think of, as long as it becomes reality. Those two collapsed cunts need to stop writing their utter and complete shit stories.

I thought they reached a new low when they came up with Ultra-Spice, when they had Sheeana walk into a Sandworm and walk out of it, supercharged and very much alive. I was obviously wrong then, because they actually had Norma Fucking Cenva show up and literally wisk the evil machinemind named Omnius away to a different universe, and then it turned out Duncan Idaho was the super-Kwisatz Haderach who would could mind-melt with machines and became one with the undeniably evil and sadistic robot Erasmus.

I was of course wrong a second time, because in Paul of Dune we got to see Paul Atreides run away to join the circus on Caladan, which of course was just a drop of tepid diarhea in a bucket of piss, shit, and vomit. The last dingleberry to drop from their hairy asses and caused that toxic mixture to overflow was the revelation that the stories Frank Herbert wrote, were really just stories written by Irulan, and thus could be overridden by Herbert Jr. And Kevin J. on a whim.

Another year, so another ripe turd needs to be squeezed out, no longer bothering with a bucket, it'll just drop to the stained floor, where it'll linger and float for a year, after which the next clunker is dropped to keep it company.

...

and breathe out.

Yarp it was.

But they do all mush together into one long increasingly rancid turd...

"Turd" makes them sound like they have more consistency than they do in fact have.

It's more like one long Hershey squirt. ;)

I like to think of the McDune books as the kind of crap you have after drinking a lot of unfiltered German wheat beer and eating a lot of peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches.

Wow! You know, sometimes I think I should give these guys another chance, but you know what? Fuck that. It's sad to think that there is no remedy for what they are doing to Frank Herbert's major (I would say) legacy. Did that sound right? I'm getting stated on a drunk and am about to play a video game. This is what my life has degenerated to. You know what, though? Even when I'm into one of my favorite things (among which is video games), bad news is bad news. Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson are bad news, if you're anything like me. Wowzers! Yikes! Bad news.

I like to think of the McDune books as a homeless guy in a torn, dirty Lynyrd Skynyrd T-shirt, cold & shivering on the sidewalk
outside of a nice Mexican restaurant where me & two old broads with raspy voices chain-smoke cigarettes & drink tequila ....

Herbert wrote six sequel novels before his death in 1986.
Huh?
