So apparently it has been revealed that Dr. Zahi Hawass, former Minister of Antiquities of Egypt, was lying in 2002 when they entered the secret chamber of the Great Pyramid. Having been jailed already, he could end up being in even more trouble with this recent story.

Well of course he was lying. Every time that man opens his mouth, he lies. The dude has done more harm to Egyptology than good.

He seems like an asshole, too.

I can't stand that show with him and that mousy little assistant who takes all his crap.

I can't stand the man.

Still, I don't wish for him to be mistreated physically, just deprived of power.

Edit: By the way, does anyone know if that bit from that Laurie Anderson routine is true, about the Egyptians burning mummies to power the steam locomotives on their first railroads?

Yeah, they used to burn mummies for everything... trains, fireplaces, ovens....

so at first, I was like : who the fuck ?
then I clicked on the "article", and I was like : what ? the fuck ?
the only "comment" that made any sense was the one about the guy being a "Zionist puppet" ...

then, cause I'm apparently brain-dead, I actually clicked around that site
and read some of the other "articles", and suddenly, it was all too clear -
people actually read these kind of blaghs and think they are actual "news" sites ...

I'm tellin' ya, I done seen it with my own eyes, in my lifetime:
the internet makes you fucking stupid ....

That doesn't make Zahi Hawass less of a liar.

This site was the first one to be referenced on the story. There are other sites that are talking about the issues about Zhai Hawass. It's no secret, being that he is serving jail time at the moment for other "discrepancies" in his work. This blog was just one of the ones I found.
