This is an inside page from Hellhole - apparently there isn't a book called God-Emperor of Duneanymore :?

But there is a Throne of Dune

Bunch of brainless idiots - KJA, Bobo, the HLP - the whole fucking lot of them...

I'm assuming that's from one of the Slimon & Shyster editions?

Yevisk (now RakisHoard) on Twitter sent me a heads-up on this...
yevisk:
@DuneSandChigger per our Poland friend, Smellhole lists out Throne of Dune on the series pg...does KJA EVER proof read his "masterpieces"?!
30 Mar

rakishoard:
@DuneSandChigger The KJA crew left off GEOD under FH works in the Smellhole "booklist page", but added Thone of Dune to the bragging list
30 Mar
I didn't make too much over it because I figure it's more a fuck-up by some idiot at the publishers, more than by KJA or BH or any or the HLP brain trust.

Still... assuming that those pages were included in the galley proofs, SOMEONE should have caught the mistakes.

To be honest, I'm no longer surprised by any example of unprofessionalism by these people. (And by these people I mean the whole fucking shebang, from KJA through the publishers. They just don't give a fuck.)

Addendum: Holy Maker: I didn't even notice the "Due" shit. Fucking hell.

She was also ginger, but wouldn't bite you unless you tried to have sex with her.

I went to post this scan without comment on DN and then I decided that they wouldn't get what was wrong with it anyway.

The 'Due' excluded, I bet this has been sitting on a desk somewhere for about a year and a half- under Throne of Dune. Since it was 'proofread' when they got it, and back then there was no reason to think that Thrown wouldn't preceed it, everything was honky-dory. You have to admit, a page like that supports the idea. Would we really be all that surprized to learn keith has been lying to us? If this is possible, I wonder when they finished writing mcDune, 2004?

Kwisatz has revealed (over on the blog) that he was the Polish friend in question and add, in connection with the galley proofs, that the page in question wasn't in his ARC of SMELLHOLE.

I'm not sure how significant that is, though, because the ARCs I've seen of the actual McDune books did include such pages. Does anyone know whether galleys include them or not, or is it probably a case-dependent thing?

(I mean, if we can lay this one on KJA & BH, too, it'll be all the tastier. But it's still sufficient to show that the publishers are fuck-ups, too.)

Again: is this the UK edition only or both?

This is the U.S. edition from Rot, as seen in Amazon's 'look inside' feature, haven't even seen a U.K. edition over here yet!

I didn't even think to look at that! :P

Edit:
Server Timeout

The information for this book is unavailable at this time.

Edit 2:

I was able to see the TOR edition preview by going through the UK paperback preview on the US Amazon site. :P

Tsk tsk tsk.

Maybe they left of GEoD because Frank didn't write it. It was handed down from the God-Emperor on high, on Ridulan Crystal that had been transcribed by the holy Ixian device.

Nah, they probably just forgot about it because they haven't read it.

A similar thing to this "Throne" business occurs in my copy of Dune, which informs me that the new authors have written House Atreides, House Harkonnen and The Spice War.

Print out a nice picture of Frank Herbert and glue it over the offending entries :)
