Where is Frank Herbert's grave that I may give water?

Seriously, I figured we'd have discussed it, or that I 'd have read somewhere the location of Frank Patrick Herbert Jr.'s final resting place. However searching this site and the "google monstrosity" has turned up diddly.

He died in Wisconsin. Did they take him back home? Maybe it says in DoD, but my memory of it isn't clear. And if any body does know, does anybody know what it looks like? Pix?

I'm going to assume the that by providing me the link to the topic I started to mark the solemn holiday that you are directing me there as an appropriate place to grieve, if that was the case thank you and everyone who shared/shares with the tribe there.

However, like my wife to Tolkien's grave, if it were ever convenient I wouldn't mind a minor Hajj to the place where he lies. Was he cremated? It think he might have seen that fitting. I just can't find it anywhere right now.

Not knowing the correct answer to your question, I thought this might be an acceptable second.
Back in the day I visited Jim Morrisons grave, shared bread and Jack Danials with two Frenchmen I met there. I had pics but lost them, wasn't a lot to see. His bust looked like a mis-shapen light bulb.

I'd like to know where Frank Herbert's grave is so that I might make a ghola out of him. Then, to restore his memory, I'll ask him to write a story about Dune with flying sandworms in it. Then I'd send him after his idiot son and Hackerson.

It would be sweet if we turned him into a ghola/Terminator.

I thought this was going to be about Brian pissing on his father's grave.

He already does that, with every word he lets that hack Anderfuck write.

huh. I'll be damned ... he's not on findagrave.com ...

that's really strange - everybody's on findagrave ...

there's a number of different sites that have cemetery surveys - it might be worth it to
go thru all the cemeteries around Tacoma ...

That website's not so thorough, SR. My granddad is buried in Arlington National, and he's not listed there.

Frank's life was up in Snohomish County. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wasnohom/snocems.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Might have been King County though, and don't forget that he died in Wisconsin.

Was "Frank" short for Francis? Don't think it was, but that might affect searches.

dude.

nobody knows who the fuck is buried at Arlington ... and you know, no disrespect or nothin',
but your gramps could very well be in the ditch on the other side of Route 110 ... and the VA couldn't
prove it one way or the other ...

and I've been amused at all the recent "controversy" at the flat-out Bad Practice that's been going on
at the "National Cemetery" since ... well, since 1863 when the first batch of Union boys were dropped
in Robert E. Lee's front yard, all the way up to the porch, to ensure the Lee & Custis Families would never
again occupy their home, whatever the outcome of The War ... Meigs was in such a fucking hurry to get
it done, they literally threw bodies in holes and put up markers later, with no notion or concern of the
correct identification of the graves .... that place has been fucked-up and cursed from the beginning ....

but I digress ....

you'd figure that if Frank had a publicized gravesite, it'd be in the "famous people" search on findagrave ...

maybe somebody with some small common sense, Penny or Theresa maybe, figured there would be dickwad
Dune fans like us wanting to make "pilgrimages" and wanted to avoid all that ... the Jim Morrison and Jimi
Hendrix experience might've taught them something ...

and Tolkien's grave was relatively unknown until the "Beren" & "Luthian" markers became public knowledge ...

so maybe we should be looking for a simple stone marker with nothing but "Stilgar" on it ....

:D Nice. Gramps had his second star, so I'm pretty sure we know where he is.

Would be a great family joke if that evil grandma of mine weren't buried on top of him, like she wanted. Not that it matters. She's down in hell giving Satan the what'fer anyway.

Wonder if they just spread his ashes on the Dunes in Florence?

I seem to remember reading that he was buried in Oregon.

"Dreamer of Dune" states that Beverly was cremated and her ashes were spread on the Hawaiian island where the Herbert's lived. I assume that Frank followed his love.

And if there's one thing Nebiros understands, it's true love. True love, and dirty, filthy, sluts.

You don't need me to disagree with you. Just read Frank's biography and you'll see that it cannot be true.

Is this gonna be the theory that it's impossible for Frank to have been in love with his wife, because you know The Rules of being in love with someone?

STFU, Nebby, you're out of your element.

I've been kinda of neutral on my opinion of you, I've allowed the SandChigger and others
to poke you with the Sharp Stick, but now I guess I think you're a shitheel ...

or going back to the "speak my name and I will appear" thing, you might think it's a clever bit ...

And I like how you go out of your fucking way to remove my name from the quote. If you're going to quote me, motherfucker, attribute it correctly.
