I picked the second.

By the way, "misunderestimated" was spoken by George W. Bush once. You know how he liked creating new words.

Bob Wills is sitting on top of the world because he "never has one girl at a time, always has seven, eight, or nine?"

WHORE.

To those of you who may be new around here, Chig is right. We'd rather you resurrect any thread you like. I have no idea why other places want you to start new threads on old topics, but that's not how we do it here. Post away and fear flames only for stupidity.

Yeah, I post on one forum that's super friendly, the nicest one I've ever found actually, but they're freaking militant about not posting in old threads, seems a little odd.

The places I frequent that frown on thread resurrection do so because 99 times out of 100 it is some numpty simply posting a "Me too!" response. We don't have that problem here.

At places were there can be competition for publicity (video game forums being a pretty good example), posting in old threads is often seen as bumping for the sole reason of getting back onto the front page. It's usually considered really bad form (if not worthy of an outright ban).

For Jacurutu, the status quo seems to work just fine. Sometimes old threads get a bump, but no one gets hurt or anything.

I'm also not sure that there are a lot of forums around with a membership that can hold things in their minds
for like, a long time ... like more than a few days, maybe ... I'm not sure there's that many forums where
so many different people can actually add content and value to a discussion over a long period of time ...

as we've discussed before, new members adding to old threads will cause a number of us to re-read the
entire thread (esp. if the topic is a central theme or event in Frank's Dune); and if a long time has passed,
maybe some opinions have changed, or other discussions have brought up points that could be applied;

mainly, tho, it's just so we don't have to keep typing the same things over and over every time somebody
new passes the waterseal .... Marty & Daniel are FaceDancers, it says so on the last page; no, they aren't
going to show us the Notes; yes, the Official Corporate Dune Forum will ban & IP block you if you say that
McDune sucks; no, I don't think he like you; no, I don't like you either ...

I understand some forums being against bumping, like Duke said, if it only to get some spam back on
the front page; I don't think we see a lot of "me, too!" and +1 bumping without something being added;
we gots a smarter bunch than that ...

on the other hand, I just got kicked off ANOTHER Civil War Living History forum - I hadn't posted much at
all, because this group was about the same as the shitheels on Authentic Campaigner, except they weren't
half as knowledgeable, just as condescending & arrogant ... also, most of the topics were kind stupid ...
very little of interest, the most active forum was the trading section, and the bullshit they were trying to
sell to each other was ... bullshit. (or some ass would post "you can get the same thing, brand new, for
20 bucks less than Charlie wants at http://www.spendingmoneymakesmeauthentic.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

there was a semi-interesting question about personal sidearms and "dress" uniforms; the guy posting
said he had found the answer for the Union officers, but hadn't been able to pin down the specific
answer for Confederates .... three asshats in a row answered the question with the Union Officers'
regs, and the thread died ... about 2 years ago ...

so this thread was buried deep and I just happened to run across it and just happened to know not
only the answer to exactly what he was asking, but also why he was asking it ...

y'all know what happened next ...

I just found a book in my library with a double negative for a title. I have a strong urge to burn it but that's totally being unprofessional as a librarian. I think I might put it away in a drawer and remove that book from the computer database.

I just took a screenshot of this. I guess that following man's law as well as God's law; not stealing; not destroying the people's property; not being dishonest isn't part of your version of Christianity.

That's cool. As long as you can keep women subjected, the whole universe should stay in balance.

Hypocrite.

Unless of course you're kidding. Then you've committed the worst sin of all...not being funny.

Hey Nebrois.

Did I read that right? As some tongue-in-cheek humour? That was kinda of funny.

I admit I first read it as a serious statement and thought ...."Well, that would be unprofessional also." Then it dawned on me ...." No wait! He's being funny. "

What can I say., my brain hasn't fully awakened.

Anyway, thanks for the morning chuckle.
