For the record I totally agree, KJA messing with a pulp universe like SW isn't even close to the same level of despicableness that him messing with serious lit is.

Also, to point to the glaringly obvious, Star Wars was a film franchise — the books came later. By definition, anything TheKeith fucked with was already "extended universe." So, while it's possible to sympathize with anti-Jacket SW fans (and I do sympathize), their pain is of a significantly lower degree than ours.

The good thing is that, because of my kja exposure, I think I've saved hundreds of high schoolers the trouble of reading his books. I guess I'm kind of like Jesus, Santa and Alvis all rolled into one.

Good. He was probably my favourite author for a bit when I was younger, but his books went downhill fast (didn't start all that perfect either) and he is one of the most condescending arrogant people on the planet.
