I'm sure there is a thread on these already but funny enough I can't find it....
Omph or Freak if you want to move it? :)

Spice blue that's a change from the usual sandy yellow :)

I like those editions.

Just a pity they don't do a Dune or a DM in that style. :(

Yeah, that struck me as being a little silly. Do the trilogy, then the last book in the trilogy through to the end of the series...

The used God Emperor I bought was older and unusually large but had a cool cover I thought:

The modern covers are simpler and sleeker but they dont show much art and I like the old school look to the earlier editions.

But this is one I've only seen online and is especially trippy:

Yeah, the four NEL PB covers (of which the Dune Messiah one you posted is one) are my favourites.

I'm really liking that big image nistle2 posted.
Thank you. I like how the covers change style from people to people. I mean, check out the Hebrew cover for God Emperor of Dune. Whoa.
Does anyone know how the covers are chosen? Is it the same now as it was then (Frank Herbert's time)?

Also, I've always been curious about the title Chapterhouse: Dune. What's going on there? I remember the first time I saw that title, I thought: Chapterhouse? I had a look at the title in other languages, and it changes with each translation. The Heiresses of Dune (I think) in the Brazilian series, The House of Mothers in the French, and who knows what else in some of the others. The Spanish version is Casa Capitular Dune, so... there you go. Does anyone know what it says on the Hebrew version?

I thinkt it was an interesting choice of title. It's no "Wedding Silk", but whatever.

Did that edition stop at God Emperor of Dune? If so, I can stop looking for them at Half Price Books.

This is my favorite cover series. I plan on buying on the whole series of this edition one day.

Yes. NEL changed the format and artist for the PB editions of Heretics and Chapter House.

I guess that's supposed to be the Guild Building on Junction in the CH:D cover, huh?

Yeah, I'm quoting myself. I used an online Hebrew keyboard and Google Translate to check out the Hebrew titles. Aside from Chapterhouse: Dune, they are all word-for-word translations. The Chapterhouse title reads The Bureau of Dune.

Maybe someone else will think this is interesting. Maybe not.
I was gonna try to get the Japanese cover translations but was put off by the large number of Japanese characters.

Link to the covers you want translated. ;)

Edit: Oh, nevermind, this shouldn't take long...

デューン 砂の惑星 (Dyuun Suna no Wakusei: Dune - Planet of Sand/Sand Planet)
砂漠の救世主 (Sabaku no Kyuuseishu: Saviour of the Desert/Desert Saviour)
砂丘の子供たち (Sakyuu no Kodomo-tachi: Children of the Sand Dune)
砂漠の神皇帝 (Sabaku no Shin-Koutei [or Kami-Koutei?]: God-Emperor of the Desert)

砂丘の大聖堂 (Sakyuu no Dai-Seidou: Cathedral [Great Chapel] of the Sand Dune)

I'll look later for the Heretics.

(I've only got one of those, the first volume of Dune in the second row, the one with Paul & Mohiam & her box on it.)

The way they alternately used "sand", "sand dune" and "desert" in the translations of the titles is weird. I wonder if there are translator's notes and if Yano explains...
