"Mumtaz" should be what we use when we tell preeqs to shut up.

A mouth that big and a cock that small? There's probably room for more.

I get so jealous when I hear of these battles that went on in the olden days of 2007, 2008, and 2009, before I knew any of this was going on. At least I got a chance to poke Harwood before his cyberdeath.

One thing about Dune fandom, the crazies always come and go. Just you wait. Maybe it won't ever be DN again, but sooner or later it'll be someplace else. I c'n just smell it; there's more Hyppos and Arnoldos and (what was that crazy Cuban child-molester's name) and NFDs and Sunnypucks and Harwoods out there. They're all just ten years old and will be coming into their own any day now. I say let their brains finish developing so we can have a real challenge.

I actually think it's slowed down because we are so organized now, not having to rely on DN anymore. I mean, I myself sometimes feel like I've gone into torpor because the challenges are so few and so weak. But sooner or later someone will come along and build a better, faster, stronger preeq machine for us to gradually overwhelm. They just need time.

And let's not forget the Conway 3000 — that was a pretty stout preek machine.

+++++

Personally, I look forward to some more Amazon Battles.™ I really, truly get a kick out of those; the preeks tend to get so frustrated. Gosh darn it all!

I figure Spanky and Bobo's upcoming Jellyhole will be worth a few laughs. If it ever really does appear.

'Chig, may I have your permission to translate what you have done so far and post it at the Russian Dune Forum?

[Edit]
Oh, by the way:

Grammar Note

To modify one noun using another, to show possession, etc., simply place one noun after the other:

ibn Farok "Farok's son/son of Farok"; bint Otheym "Otheym's daughter/daughter of Otheym"
Hmm, my knowledge of Arabic grammar isn't all that good, but possession would be expressed with the ʼiḍāfa construction in Arabic, right? Generally, does Fremen have nominal inflection?

Yes, idafa is quite right (normalized into Fremen). :D Strictly speaking, it's a noun followed by a second noun in the genitive case. Definiteness is shown by affixing the article to the second noun, never the first.

FH didn't include examples showing much nominal inflection, and it's greatly reduced in most modern dialects of Arabic, so I'm thinking of dispensing with it entirely or (more likely) making it an option for very conservative dialects. The main place it will show up is in feminine nouns ending in that "(h) which is really a t"...

haya or hayah life
Ma Hayat Water of Life (the final 'i' of the genitive ending is dropped)
(Compare hayati, hayatak my life, your life ('t' emerges whenever suffixes are added))

Input & feedback always welcome! :)

Edit: I'm curious about the kus entry... are you trying to tell us there's no Russian word for that? No equivalent of "The Seaward"? ;)

Heh, I knew you'd ask about that one  It's actually a pretty standard lexicographic practice to use Latin terms instead of definitions in suchlike cases, and certainly using mat would not be appropriate here :)

I thought that was "Never to forgive! Never to forget!"

(I'll put that one on the list. ;) )

And I guess we should have a curses section, so Omph's suggestion could go there, yes? Along with "Your mother was a slig's anus!"

I don't know if that counts as 'quintessentially Fremen, so I've quoted the context also. :)
Children Of Dune wrote:"You wear a collar, Stilgar!"...
"You are a servant," Idaho said. "You've sold Fremen for their water."...
"You have no immortality, Stilgar. None of your descendants carry your
blood!"
With names appropriately edited of course.
