That will be explained in THE SISTERHOOD OF DUNE due out in 2012.

Erasmus’ memory core will figure heavily in Gilbertus Albans’ creation of the Mentat School. (In fact, would anyone really be all that surprised if Gilbertus brings Erasmus back entirely, or even in some limited “talking head” condition? KJA has said he loves writing Erasmus, after all.)
Called it back in June.

Edit: GSD predictions page updated; still can't claim a Bug Score, since it's not confirmed (plus, Byron's usually the last to know shit, so he could very well be talking out of his ass), but I like it. :P

Yeah, thought you'd like that.

But this seems like pretty specific info for The Demented Kitten of Doom to be just foaming at the mouth, huh?

True, but how would he have gotten it?

The impression I've had to date is that the members of the HLP get little or no advance peek at what Kevin (and BoBo?) is planning for each book; at least neither KJA nor Byron has ever mentioned anything of the sort in public. (Remember Byron talking about getting his first peek when he received an ARC for one of the books a few years back?)

Did they maybe have a big get-together up north over the holidays? (Where are most of the Merritts, anyway? Aren't they centered in California? Are Penny and Ron(?) up in Washington, too?) If so, Byron could have heard something directly from Brian. Or they could have talked on the phone.

Would Brian have shown Byron the manuscript, though? (Without Kevin's permission?) Or could Kimmy be the link?

He'd have to, it's not like Brian's plastic bubble will fit through the door.

I still like my Weekend at Brian's theory. Brian was killed by a bear shaped blood clot years ago and nobody's noticed because he was a recluse anyway.

I just logged in over on Facebook and had a peek at Janet Herbert's photos. If they had a thing and she took pix, she hasn't uploaded them yet.

(Seriously, someone should tell her they're visible to God and Kevin.)

So technically the fact that Brian has no discipline means...

Um... I don't think we've (re)posted any pix of her before this, have we? You think maybe you could crop that, and edit her out?

Sure, she's Brian's wife and a member of the HLP and in a way just as responsible as any of the other peripheral members for letting Kevin and Brian commit their literary travesties, but so far as we know she's not involved in any of the actual shit creation (like Jabecca is), she doesn't admin any of the HLP/Anderson-controlled Dune-related boards or websites (like Kim or Byron), and to my knowledge she's never made any public statements about or attacked any of us as a group or individuals (like KJA's dipshit stepson), so personally I'd prefer we not repost her image or otherwise abuse her, so long as those conditions remain unchanged. ;)

That said, I noticed that when I nosed around earlier, but didn't really think about the irony of it until you pointed it out.

Brian seems to think he and his brother were mistreated by their father when they were children and in a way to blame FH for his sons' personal "problems" (Brian's alcoholism, Bruce's drug abuse and, if I read Dreamer right, also his homosexuality). But this thing Janet is supporting says that discipline is a sign of love. Maybe she gets what hubby never has.

Anyway, it's late and I'm off, like a cheeeeeeeese! :P

Well, I blame Brian for my alcoholism, and my heterosexuality.

Brian reminds me of the "I like turtles" zombie kid.
He sits in interviews looking clueless. Maybe he has that meow, meow, meow meow cat food commercial song running through his head.
"Dune can be read on so many different levels. I really get different things out of it every time I read it. You can read it as just a plain old space adventure story, people being stranded on a desert planet that has giant sandworms on it, but you can also read it and get politics and economics out of it."

Ah, the commercials of yesteryear ... :)

I think Bobo is a lot like that cat, only his words are slightly more sophisticated:

"Yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin; yes, Kevin ..."
"Anything I write will be remembered and listed in bibliographies on Dune for several hundred years ..." — some delusional halfwit troll.

Of course he's into swimming. When you look like that, every body of water is like the Dead-freakin'-Sea.

backing it up a minute, does anybody else get the feeling that Byron really and truly just doesn't give a shit anymore ?
Chig said something about his not being privy to Keith's new mouthfarts, but I wonder if he even cares ?

he's just in zombie-mode, going thru the motions ...

also, and this is just my opinion, fuck all the Living Herbert Parasites ....
in their necks ....
twice .....

if none of them have had the good sense and common decency to stop all this horseshit by now,
fuck them ... if you're not with us, you're with the terrorists ... fool me once, shame on me - fool me twice ....
won't get fooled again ... but you have to ask one question: is our children learning ?

He definitely doesn't care like he did a couple years ago. when Jacurutu was just starting out (I can tell when I check the historical archives). I think he cares even less than he did when he banned a bunch of people over the L.A. Times cherry-picking journeyman article. I posted that Paul of Dune prolapsed my anus and he didn't ban me, nor did he even delete that post. I don't think he gives a shit. He just wants to put food on his family, and practice his love with OBGYN's.
