They're in it. Here's a basic team page from Yahoo:

(Many pundits rate them as the 32nd-best team ... in the 32-team tournament :) )

England

... they played horrifically from the moment they opened the score. If they continue to play like this they will not even survive the group stage.

That was actually pretty cool.

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

I'm not, ultimately, rooting for them but it is a pleasure to watch them play, even when they're each trying too hard to jam it up the middle and get photogenic goals like they were in the first half. They make it look so easy.

Oh, I didn't actually watch them; I don't care enough for the game for that! :P

I just happened to catch the scores and sniffling Northers on CNNj this morning before leaving home. And since I chose Brazil...

You've gotta say that first goal was pretty impressive, though, photogenic or not.

aww, shit ... so, are they out now ? don't we get a pity grudge-fuck match against Barbados ?

they were crying because they know they've got to back on half-rations now ... and only the
families of losing North Korean association footballers get executed ... the players themselves
are rotated back into the breeding program for Massah Kim's preteen ribbon-twirling team ...

No, the godless Commies have two more games left in the group stage.

But they'll probably need to win at least one of those outright to advance to the final stage of 16 teams.

:D Usually when Americans use "eh" to mock Canadians they get it's use all wrong, but you nailed it. (NOT that you were mocking us of course, probably just hanging around too many Canucks!) I believe the normal American thing to say in that situation would have been "huh".
